DALLAS – Tulsa Roughnecks FC rallied back to take a 3-2 victory against Southern Methodist University on Wednesday morning at Westcott Field. Sammy Ochoa, Cristian Mata and Matt Whatley were on target for the Roughnecks as they took their third win of the preseason.
Ochoa opened the scoring just over a quarter of an hour into the game, as he put home his fifth goal of the preseason, but the Mustangs – who were ranked No. 11 to conclude the 2015 NCAA season – responded strongly before the break to take a 2-1 lead into halftime.
The Roughnecks rebounded strongly in the second half, and got back on level terms just over 10 minutes in when Mata headed home a cross by Iarfhlaith Davoren to make it 2-2.
