TULSA, Okla. – A van carrying six Tulsa Roughnecks FC players was involved in an accident Wednesday morning when traveling from Fort Lauderdale to Jacksonville, Fla.
Midfielder Henri Manhebo is still receiving treatment for his injuries and is in stable condition, according to a team statement, while the majority of the other players received treatment for minor injuries and were released.
“It is has been a trying for everyone involved with the Roughnecks,” Roughnecks FC President and General Manager Mike Melega said. “We are very fortunate that the accident was not much worse. We ask everyone to keep Henri in your prayers and that we see him back on the field shortly.”
The Roughnecks have been in Florida since last Friday for preseason training. The team will provide further updates as information becomes available.
