TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa Roughnecks FC announced on Friday it had signed former University of California-Berkeley goalkeeper Alex Mangels for the 2016 USL season.
Mangels made 23 appearances for the Golden Bears during his career, and helped the side reach the NCAA Tournament twice. This past season he split time with U.S. U20 National Team goalkeeper Jonathan Klinsmann, and recorded a career-best 1.11 goals-against average in 10 starts.

The 22-year-old is the second goalkeeper on the Roughnecks roster, alongside returning starter Jake Feener.
The Roughnecks will host Rio Grande Valley FC in their opening game of the 2016 USL regular season on Saturday, March 26 at 7 p.m. CT.
