TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa Roughnecks FC announced on Tuesday it had signed English forward Taylor Morgan to a two-year contract ahead of the 2016 USL season.
A 2013 draft selection of Toronto FC after competing for IMG Bradenton Academy and the Chicago Fire U23 in the PDL prior to turning professional, Morgan made one appearance for TFC before joining Swedish club Ostersunds FK, where he recorded three goals in 19 appearances. Morgan also spent time on loan from Ostersunds FK with Scottish clubs Falkirk and Airdrieonians in the past two years.
“Taylor is going to be another quality forward who will offer us something different,” said Tulsa Assistant Coach Tom Taylor. “He has great size and excellent pace. I've known about Taylor since he was at George Mason University and at Toronto FC, and he has all the tools to make it at the next level.“He has been overseas playing at a high level in Sweden and Scotland the last few years, gaining some great experience. When I heard about his availability, I thought that he would be another strong addition to our forward line and would create some good competition in that department with Sammy [Ochoa], Cristian [Mata] and Kaleem [Khan].”
