Nwabueze recorded five goals in his rookie season for the Roughnecks, as he was used predominantly off the bench in the club’s inaugural season. Only four of his 24 appearances in the regular season were starts, as he often provided an attacking spark with his speed for the club. The 23-year-old Nigerian had previously starred in the PDL for LA Misioneros FC, which he helped reach the PDL Playoffs for only the second time in its history in 2014.
