SHERBROOKE, Quebec – FC Montreal swept to a 5-0 victory against the Université de Sherbrooke on Sunday afternoon as Mastanabal Kacher scored twice in the club’s latest preseason exhibition.
"We got better as the game went on,” said Montreal Assistant Coach Simon Gatti. “I was satisfied with their defensive attitude. The quality was sometimes average and we could have scored more goals, but it was a good lesson for us.”
Montreal took the lead in the 12th minute as midfielder Yacine Ait Slimane put pressure on the Vert et Or defense to win possession. He quickly found Jacques Haman, who scored from inside the penalty area.

Haman played provider as Montreal doubled its lead four minutes before the break, as he released midfielder Philippe Lincourt-Joseph in behind the Sherbrooke defense. Lincourt-Joseph calmly finished into the right side of the net to make it 2-0.
Five minutes into the second half Michael Bilak made it three, as he fired home a shot into the top-left corner after a good cross by Zachary Sukunda from the right.
Kacher added a pair of goals to round out the contest, the first coming on a long-range finish in the 65th minute. After receiving a pass from Bilak, Kacher fired home from 25 yards. Then, with seven minutes to go, he curled home a free kick into the left corner of the net to wrap up the scoring.
