PHOENIX – Arizona United SC announced on Thursday the signing of former Rochester Rhinos defender Julian Ringhof ahead of the 2016 USL season.

“We saw that he was available a couple of weeks ago and jumped at the opportunity to sign him,” said Arizona United Head Coach Frank Yallop. “I think he’s a guy that’s hungry to do well. As soon as I spoke to him, he was desperate to come to Arizona.”

Ringhof was a regular member of a Rhinos defense that set a USL record in 2015 as it conceded only 15 goals in the regular season, and 17 shutouts. Ringhof made 21 regular-season appearances for the Rhinos as the club claimed the USL Regular Season Championship, and went on to add the 2015 USL Championship.

A native of Freiberg, Germany, Ringhof played NCAA soccer for the University of San Diego prior to turning pro with the Rhinos, and was a two-time All-West Coast Conference First Team selection for the Toreros.
