CARSON, Calif. – The LA Galaxy II announced on Monday the signing of 2016 MLS SuperDraft selection Josh Turnley for the 2016 USL season.
A former standout at Georgetown University, Turnley was selected with the first pick of the third round at this year’s SuperDraft. With the Hoyas, Turnley was a starter in three of his four seasons, and helped the team record nine shutouts in 18 games this past fall to earn Big East All-Conference Second Team honors.
During his career at Georgetown, Turnley also earned Big East Conference All-Academic Team honors twice (2013, 2014) and Georgetown’s Most Improved Player (2013) honors. Turley started 61 matches and added six assists for the Hoyas.
Los Dos will begin the defense of their USL Western Conference Championship this Saturday as they host Arizona United SC at StubHub Center. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. PT.
