PITTSBURGH – Stephen Okai scored a pair of goals as the Pittsburgh Riverhounds took a 3-0 win against Ohio State University on Sunday afternoon at Highmark Stadium. Romeo Parkes added the third for the Riverhounds.
The Riverhounds took the lead shortly before the halftime break, as Lebo Moloto held possession in play after Zak Boggs couldn’t convert a low cross. Moloto found Okai just outside the penalty area, and the midfielder swept home a finish inside the right post.
“Movement off the ball, how we possess it and how fast we move it will be the keys to our team this year,” said Riverhounds Head Coach Mark Steffens. “It was pretty good today.”

Moloto was the creator in the Riverhounds’ second goal, which arrived 20 minutes into the second half. The South African split the Buckeyes defense with a pass for Parkes, who picked up possession 25 yards from goal and put his finish past the onrushing goalkeeper.
The Riverhounds added their third late in the game as trialist Duwayne Ewert earned a penalty kick. Okai put home the finish to round out the scoring as he shot low into the right corner.Pittsburgh will host the University of Michigan next Sunday in its next preseason contest, which will also feature live music, food trucks and other entertainment at the Riverhounds’ Fan Fest. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. ET at Highmark Stadium.
