Harrisburg Signs Former Union Forward Wheeler

HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Harrisburg City Islanders have announced the signing of former Philadelphia Union and Wilmington Hammerheads FC forward Aaron Wheeler.

“Aaron is a player we had on loan from the Union in previous seasons that has consistently done well for us,” said Islanders Head Coach Bill Becher. “We look forward to him doing great things this season.”

Wheeler had a previous pair of stints with the City Islanders in 2013 and 2014 on loan from the Union, where he recorded three goals and two assists in seven appearances for the club. The 2009 PDL Most Valuable Player for Reading United AC – then the Reading Rage – the 6-foot-4 forward made 10 appearances for Wilmington a season ago, recording two goals and one assist.

For the Union, Wheeler recorded one goal and one assist over 25 appearances for the club.
