INDIANAPOLIS – Louisville City FC completed an undefeated preseason as Andy Lubahn’s second-half goal earned a 1-0 victory against Indy Eleven on Saturday afternoon at the University of Indianapolis’s Key Stadium.
Lubahn, who joined Louisville this offseason from the Harrisburg City Islanders, put home the decisive goal with 19 minutes to go as he headed home a cross by rookie Jonghyun Son. The goal was Lubahn’s second of the preseason.
Both sides had chances in the first half, and Louisville almost took the lead in the 15th minute when Chandler Hoffman’s flicked finish from a corner by George Davis IV was saved. City goalkeeper Scott Goodwin also had to come up with important saves to keep Indy off the board, and made a diving save 10 minutes later when Wojciech Wojcik flicked a header on goal.

Davis also had to make a crucial clearance off the line six minutes before the halftime break to deny Wojcik, but Louisville had chances in the second half as Mark Anthony Kaye forced a good save from 18 yards in the 67th minute. Former Sacramento Republic FC forward Justin Braun had a late chance for Indy following Lubahn’s goal, but Goodwin made the save to earn the shutout, and the win.
Louisville will hit the road to open the 2016 USL regular season on Saturday, March 26 when it visits the Charlotte Independence at Ramblewood Stadium.
