LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Three-time USL All-League selection George Davis IV will have a new home in the league this spring as he was announced as the latest signing for Louisville City FC on Friday. The former Richmond Kickers and Orange County Blues FC standout is the first former University of Kentucky player to join City.
“We are thrilled to sign a player of George's pedigree,” Louisville City FC coach James O'Connor said. “He is a top-class talent and we are very excited to have him on board. He knows the area well, having spent some time previously at UK and growing up in Lima, Ohio.”
Davis IV began his professional career with the Dayton Dutch Lions in 2011, with whom he had also played in the PDL the previous season, and earned All-League Second Team honors. He then joined the Blues, earning All-League Second Team honors in 2013.

In 2014, Davis moved to the Richmond Kickers, where he helped the side to back-to-back playoff appearances, and earned his first USL All-League First Team as he recorded 11 goals and five assists for the club. Davis has made 119 regular-season appearances in the USL over the past five seasons, recording 34 goals.“I know the club has high aspirations and I strive to help bring that success,” Davis IV said. “As a UK grad, I'm very excited to come back to Kentucky. It's going to be a great feeling playing in front of family, friends and the great fans of Louisville.”
