PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Timbers 2 announced on Friday that Coach Jay Vidovich had been appointed the Head Men’s Soccer Coach at the University of Pittsburgh.

“We will continue to invest and grow the T2 program and we wish Jay all the best in his return to the collegiate level,” said Gavin Wilkinson, general manager of T2 and the Portland Timbers.

Under Vidovich, T2 finished eighth in the USL’s Western Conference in their inaugural season with a record of 11-15-2. T2 saw a number of young players flourish as through the side’s rises and dips in form throughout the season, the most notable being 2015 USL Rookie of the Year Kharlton Belmar, who recorded 12 goals and three assists.

T2 is the third USL team to make a coaching change this offseason, following the departure of Michael Dellorusso at Arizona United SC and Carson Porter from Wilmington Hammerheads FC.
