ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Experienced MLS executive Mark Washo was introduced as the Chief Business Officer for the Rochester Rhinos on Thursday, as new owners David and Wendy Dworkin added a key member of staff to their organization.
A former Executive Vice President for the Chicago Fire and New York/New Jersey MetroStars, Washo brings 25 years of experience in sports business to his new role in his hometown of Rochester.
“Mark Washo brings outstanding experience in both men’s and women’s professional soccer to the Rhinos, and will be a strong leader for the club as we enter a new era,” said David Dworkin. “I am extremely excited to work with Mark as we push the club forward to an even higher level of success on and off the field.”

In addition to Washo’s appointment, the club also announced details of more than $1 million in renovations and upgrades that were being made to Rhinos Stadium. Among the new features fans will see this season are a new high-definition video board, and a state-of-the-art Revolution360 playing surface that will be installed ahead of the club’s home opener on Sunday, April 24 against FC Montreal.
In addition, the club will be offering new seating packages, including the introduction of the Golden Rhino Club, and premium field-side seating, as well as upgraded concession stands and the availability of premium food and beverages.“We want Rhinos Stadium to be regarded as one of the finest in the USL,” said Wendy Dworkin. “With the financial commitment being put into the venue not only ahead of the new season, but in the future, we believe Rhinos fans will have an experience that is second-to-none as they cheer the team on to victory throughout the season.”
