ROCHESTER, N.Y. – After claiming the club’s fourth league championship this past season, the Rochester Rhinos will have a large contingent of familiar faces back at Sahlen’s Stadium in 2016 to defend their crown.
The Rhinos announced they had picked up 10 contract options on Thursday, with 2015 USL All-League selections Tony Walls and Grant Van De Casteele leading the group.

Walls appeared in every contest for the Rhinos in 2015, and led the team in minutes as his outstanding two-way play saw him honored in the end of season awards. Van De Casteele was also excellent in his first season with the Rhinos, as he helped marshal a defense that set a record for fewest goals conceded in a USL regular season.
Walls and Van De Casteele are joined by forwards Steevan Dos Santos, Christian Volesky and Asani Samuel, who earned MVP honors for his two-goal performance in the 2015 USL Championship. Midfielders Kenardo Forbes and Marcos Ugarte, defenders Vassilios Apostolopoulos and Sean Totsch and goalkeeper Adam Grinwis will also remain part of the team.
