IRVINE, Calif. – Orange County Blues FC has announced the return of midfielder Nikola Ilich for the 2016 USL season. The rookie led the club in appearances in his rookie season as the Blues finished top of the USL’s Western Conference in the regular season.
“We are delighted to welcome Nikki back to the OC Blues,” said Blues Head Coach Oliver Wyss. “He was an important part of our success and played more games than any other player last season after coming through the open tryouts. We are looking forward to working with him again and having another successful season together.”

A former player for Vanguard University, Ilich played 1,307 minutes for the Blues in 2015, and scored his first professional goal with a standout volley against the Austin Aztex. In all, he started 13 contests, and made 14 appearances off the bench for the Blues.“I’m excited to be back with the Blues and to have another great season,” said Ilich. “I can’t wait to see what this season has in store for us and for the fans.”
