SANDY, Utah – Real Monarchs SLC added another former member of the RSL Academy to its squad on Tuesday, as former University of Louisville midfielder Andrew Brody signed with the club. The Monarchs also added to their attack, with the signing of former Rochester Rhinos forward Colin Rolfe.
“Andrew is a two-way, left-sided winger that continues to improve our attack,” Real Salt Lake General Manager Craig Waibel said. “He made a lot of progress at the collegiate level and this will be a great opportunity for him to continue that growth as we continue to evolve our player development.”

Brody recently completed his junior season for the Cardinals, and follows in the footsteps of fellow Monarchs player Ricardo Velazco, who also forwent his final season of college eligibility to sign with Real for the club’s inaugural season in 2015.
Originally from Florida, Brody also spent time in the PDL with Orlando City U23 while competing for Louisville after graduating from the RSL Academy in Casa Grande, Ariz.
“We saw Andrew play with the RSL Academy and what we liked about him was his creativity, his work ethic and his ability to create opportunities for himself and for others,” said Cardinals Coach Ken Lolla. “He’s elusive, he’s quick, he’s pretty good with the ball. He can’t only do it as a wide guy, but centrally between the lines he’s gotten much, much better.”
