Switchbacks Announce Complete Preseason Slate

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced its full preseason schedule on Thursday, with contests against USL Western Conference rivals Orange County Blues FC and the LA Galaxy II set to cap a trip to California to complete the club’s preparations for the 2016 season.

The Switchbacks will open their preseason on Saturday as they visit the Real Colorado Foxes Academy. The side will then face four contests against college opposition, with visits to Air Force (Feb. 27), Colorado State University-Pueblo (March 5), the Colorado School of Mines (March 8) and a home contest against the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs (March 12).

Steve Trittschuh’s side will then head to California, where it will face PDL side the Ventura County Fusion on March 15 at 8 p.m. MT. The trip will conclude with games on back-to-back days, as the Switchbacks take on the Blues on March 18 at noon MT, and the Galaxy II on March 19 at 11 a.m. MT.

The Switchbacks will open the 2016 USL regular season with a rematch from last season’s Western Conference Playoffs, as they visit OKC Energy FC on Saturday, March 26 at 7 p.m. MT. The club’s home opener is set for Saturday, April 9 at Switchbacks Stadium as it hosts Arizona United SC at 1:30 p.m. MT.
