NORMAN, Okla. – OKC Energy FC played to a 1-1 draw against the University of Nebraska Omaha in its final preseason game of the spring on Saturday afternoon at Norman North Stadium. Casey Townsend scored the goal for Energy FC, which returns home for the start of the 2016 USL regular season next Saturday.

Energy FC took the lead in the 21st minute when Kalen Ryden sent a deep cross from the left that found Townsend in the right side of the penalty area. Townsend controlled, and fired home a turning shot to put Energy FC ahead.

OKC had chances to extend its lead in the remainder of the first half, and early in the second half went close as Ryden had consecutive shots denied.

The Mavericks leveled just before the hour-mark as Elvir Ibisevic found Noor Hamadi on the left side of the six-yard area, and his finish found the back of the net.

Energy FC will host Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in its opening game of the 2016 USL regular season at Taft Stadium on Saturday, March 26. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT.
