RICHMOND, Va. – The Richmond Kickers announced on Tuesday night the club’s all-time leading scorer, Matthew Delicate, has re-signed for the 2016 USL season.
Delicate sits second in the USL’s five-year history with 41 goals, trailing the Swope Park Rangers’ Dane Kelly by one goal as the new season kicks off. Delicate recorded the 200th point of his Kickers’ career last season in a 1-0 win against FC Montreal last April.
The 6-foot-3 forward began his professional career with the Kickers in 2004 after a standout career at Virginia Commonwealth University. Across two stints with the club, Delicate has made 238 appearances for the Kickers, scoring 93 goals and adding 21 assists.

Delicate also spent three seasons with the Rochester Rhinos between 2006 and 2008, where he made 76 regular-season appearances and recorded 19 goals and seven assists.
Named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year in his senior season for the Rams, Delicate is VCU’s all-time leader in goals (44), points (101) and game-winning goals (14).
