SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sacramento Republic FC announced on Tuesday the signing of former Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 forward Mackenzie Pridham.
“This is an excellent signing because Mac has come to us through the tryout system,” said Republic FC Head Coach and Technical Director Paul Buckle. “I am pleased that we were able to identify that Mac had the talent to make our first-team roster. I like that he can finish and is very good in the 18-yard box. I think that he can be dangerous and he showed that with his score against an MLS back line on Saturday.”

Pridham found the net for Sacramento this past Saturday in the club’s preseason contest with the San Jose Earthquakes. The 25-year-old Canadian spent time on loan with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in 2014 before making 20 appearances for Vancouver in the club’s inaugural season last year.Prior to turning pro, Pridham made 70 appearances for Cal Poly San Luis Obispo from 2009-13, where he scored 27 goals and recorded four assists. Of his 27 collegiate goals, 12 were game-winners. Pridham and recently signed Republic FC midfielder Matt LaGrassa were teammates at Cal Poly in 2012 and 2013.
