SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sacramento Republic FC and the San Jose Earthquakes announced on Wednesday the renewal of the partnership between the clubs for a third season.
“Our affiliation is just one aspect of the relationship we have built with the Earthquakes since we launched as a club,” said Sacramento Republic FC Co-Founder and President Warren Smith. “The past two years, the Earthquakes have been amazing to us, not only by loaning players, but also by being a partner in our growth as an organization and sharing our vision to build the game in Northern California.”
Republic FC has been boosted by loan players from the Earthquakes in each of the past two seasons. Forward Adam Jahn recorded six goals in 17 appearances for Sacramento in the 2014 regular season, while Tommy Thompson and Mark Sherrod both played a role late in 2015 as Republic FC clinched a place in the 2015 USL Playoffs.
