SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio FC added another pair of players to its squad on Thursday, as former Chicago Fire defender Greg Cochrane and New York Red Bulls midfielder Manolo Sanchez became the club’s latest signings.
A former PDL standout with Reading United AC, where he earned All-Eastern Conference honors in 2012, Cochrane began his professional career with the LA Galaxy, where he made 21 appearances over two seasons. Last year he made four appearances for Chicago, and also spent time on loan with Saint Louis FC in the USL, where he also made four appearances.
“Obviously it’s really exciting to join the club,” said Cochrane. “There are some really high quality players here and when you piece it all together with the backing of Spurs Sports & Entertainment, it’s something that really excited me to join. When the opportunity presented itself, I jumped at it and I can’t wait to get started.”

Sanchez is also a Reading alum, having played two seasons in the PDL with the club before being drafted by the Red Bulls for the 2015 season. Sanchez made three appearances in MLS, and was a key player for the New York Red Bulls II as they reached the 2015 USL Playoffs in their inaugural season. Sanchez recorded four goals and one assist in 22 regular-season appearances for NYRB II, and also found the net in the club’s 4-2 overtime victory against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.“I’m very excited to be here,” said Sanchez. “It’s obviously a very well respected organization and club, and I am excited to be very successful on and off the field.”
