TUCSON, Ariz. – The Swope Park Rangers will take aim at an undefeated record at the Desert Diamond Cup on Saturday as they face host FC Tucson in their final game of the tournament at the Kino Sports Complex. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. CT, and the game is set to be streamed via the FC Tucson YouTube channel.

The Rangers remained undefeated on Wednesday night thanks to a late goal by Mark Anthony Gonzalez, which earned a 2-2 draw with defending MLS Eastern Conference champions Columbus Crew SC. The Rangers had previously defeated the Colorado Rapids, and earned a draw with fellow USL side Arizona United SC.

“This is our second week, we have two-and-a-half weeks of work, not even a month done, and you see a lot of patterns, an identity in a lot of the things they do,” said Rangers Coach Marc Dos Santos. “This is positive.”

Swope Park will take on an FC Tucson side that fell 3-1 on Wednesday to another USL side, Arizona United SC. Tucson fought back to level the score in the second of three 30-minute periods as Connor Bevans found the net, but two goals in the third period by Chris Cortez gave Arizona victory.
