CHESTER, Pa. – Bethlehem Steel FC announced on Wednesday the addition of Jamaican forward Cory Burke on loan from Rivoli United from Jamaica’s Red Stripe Premier League.

“A player with a recent goal-scoring record and skill set like Cory's has us hopeful that he will make a quick transition to USL,” Bethlehem Steel FC Head Coach Brendan Burke said. “We are confident in his ability to make an immediate impact for the club and we’re happy to have him on board.”

The 24-year-old is currently the second-leading scorer in the RSPL with 12 goals, and has been a consistent goal-scorer for Rivoli United over the past three seasons. That form saw him last year called into a Jamaica National Team camp, which Burke said boosted his confidence.

“It was a wonderful experience training among professional players,” Burke told the Jamaica Gleaner. “I learnt that attitude is very important, and I also put in more work.”

Burke will join Boluwatife Akinyode, Amoy Brown, James Chambers and Seku Conneh in holding an international spot on Steel FC’s roster.
