PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Bethlehem Steel FC will have a familiar face at the helm to both Philadelphia Union and Reading United AC fans when it takes the field in 2016, as the club announced Brendan Burke as its first head coach on Wednesday.

Burke will be introduced officially at a press conference on Thursday morning at 10 a.m. ET.

Burke was formerly the head coach at Reading, the Union’s PDL partner, where he led the club to six consecutive playoff berths while accumulating a 65-11-18 record in the regular season. He was a finalist for the PDL’s Coach of the Year award in 2010, when United claimed the PDL Eastern Conference Championship for a second time.

Burke also previously served as an assistant coach for the Union for three seasons before becoming associate head coach at Northeastern University last year.
