CINCINNATI – FC Cincinnati has surpassed 4,000 season tickets ahead of its inaugural season in the USL, President Jeff Berding told the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Patrick Brennan this week, as it gears up for the club’s home opener at Nippert Stadium on Saturday, April 9 against the Charlotte Independence.

Berding told the Enquirer the club was pleased to have reached its goal well ahead of the start of the season. The expansion team, which is led by Carl Lindner III, the former owner of the Cincinnati Reds, has built in impressive fashion both on and off the field, with a slew of major sponsors already announced including main jersey sponsor Toyota.

The side has also looked positive on the field this preseason, having taken victory in the IMG Suncoast Pro Classic in February, with a win against Major League Soccer’s New York City FC a notable feather in the club’s cap.
