Rio Grande Valley FC’s Juan “Charly” Flores will lead a contingent of current and former USL players who have been called up by United States U20 National Team Coach Tab Ramos for the group’s first training camp of 2016.

Flores, a former standout for the Houston Dynamo Academy and the first signing in RGVFC history, is joined in the attacking contingent by Seattle Sounders FC forward Victor Mansaray, who this past season made 16 appearances for S2 in their inaugural season.

Former Real Monarchs SLC defender Danny Acosta is part of the defensive group, meanwhile, after having recently joined Real Salt Lake as a Homegrown signing after competing in the USL this past season. Tommy Redding, who began his professional career with Orlando City SC in the USL, was also selected, as were the LA Galaxy II duo of Malcolm Jones and Hugo Arellano, both of whom competed for Los Dos this past season.

One other player with USL ties selected was Sacramento Republic FC Academy defender David Burns, who has made eight appearances for the club in its inaugural season in the USSF Development Academy this fall.

The squad will assemble in Miami, and also play four exhibition contests beginning on Friday as it starts preparations for the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup, to be held in South Korea.
