ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Saint Louis FC has announced the signing of former Houston Dynamo defender A.J. Cochran and midfielder Tyler David for the 2016 USL season.

Cochrane has spent the past two seasons in Houston, and made 26 regular-season appearances in Major League Soccer. A former member of the St. Louis Scott Gallagher academy, Cochran briefly spent time on loan with the Charleston Battery in the 2015 USL season, and brings experience with the U.S. U23, U20 and U18 National Teams.

"It is great to have A.J. Cochran back in St. Louis," said STL FC Head Coach Dale Schilly. “Having watched A.J. develop over the years, I think Saint Louis FC fans can expect a hard tackling and committed center back who is very brave in the air and a good box defender. His quality mid-range and long-range passing will help generate attacks and this addition will be good for all involved as we have quality center backs battling for playing time.”

David turns professional with STL FC after competing for Saint Louis University collegiately. The midfielder was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Team on three occasions, and was an NSCAA All-Midwest Region Second Team selection. David recorded more than 7,300 minutes of action as a Billiken, and will bring versatility to Saint Louis’ squad.

“Tyler is a nice addition.” said Schilly. “Tyler is versatile, having grown up playing as a defensive midfielder and as a center back during his junior and senior seasons at SLU. Tyler has a very good brain and understands starting positions. He is a good ball winner, good in the air and a very good passer.”
