LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Louisville City FC, the USL PRO team which will start play in Louisville in March of 2015, announced today the hiring of USL soccer executive Amanda Duffy as Vice President of Operations. Duffy will begin her post with LCFC on October 13.

"I’m extremely excited to bring Amanda on board as we gear up for our inaugural season,” said LCFC President, Djorn Buchholz. “She has a wealth of knowledge stemming from her time at USL and can hit the ground running since she knows USL PRO so well.”

Duffy has been with the USL since 2007 and has been the Senior Director of the W-League, USL’s women’s pro-am league, since 2010. Duffy was responsible for the execution of the league’s annual operating strategies including oversight of the annual league championships while also guiding the league’s growth, marketing and public relations initiatives. Prior to this role, she was the Director of USL PRO Operations from 2008-10, directing the day-to-day operations of USL’s professional league.

“I’m elated to join the Louisville City FC organization and look forward to building something very special from the ground up,” said Duffy. “Our focus is to build a team and an environment that our fans can immerse themselves in, while also becoming a centerpiece to the Louisville community. I’m especially excited to meet the Coopers and all of the Louisville City FC faithful.”

The East Carolina University graduate holds a Masters of Arts in Sport Management, with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science.  Duffy played for the women’s soccer team at ECU where she was inducted into the ECU Sports Hall of Fame after achieving the all-time leader position in career and single-season goals and career points. She went on to play in the W-League for the Raleigh Wings, Virginia Beach Piranhas and Central Florida Krush. Duffy finished her career in 2006 playing professionally for Danmarks IF in Uppsala, Sweden.

The LCFC inaugural season will kick off in March of 2015 at Slugger Field in Louisville. Season ticket deposits are currently being accepted at www.louisvillecityfc.com for just $50 per season ticket.
